1) Have you resumed in-person classes? What are your COVID safe practices? What should I expect if I do in-studio classes?
- In person classes are limited to 8 students (1x per week on Thursdays at 6pm, beginning 9/24/20: ON HOLD as of Nov 1 2020 due to increase in COVID cases. Please check back later for resuming in studio classes)
- All in-person classes will also be virtual (i.e. hybrid)
- Studio is cleaned after every class. No more paper sign in, sign-in electronically on your phone or app.
- Temp checks at door, mask use required throughout class, social distancing, not touching, limited capacity
- Pre-registration required as well as in-studio symptom attestation (online client form) must be completed prior to class
- No shows that fail to cancel or those who fail to bring a mask will be turned away and charged full price
1A) What do I need to know about virtual classes?
- All sign ups for virtual classes are through MindBody
- Virtual classes are held on Zoom. Zoom links are emailed to registered participants from FitGrid 1 hour prior to class
- To learn more about FitGrid and how to set up your virtual experience see here
- To ensure you get the emails from FitGrid and they are not filtered into your junk see here
2) How much are your classes?
- $5 drop in (accepted at all classes). $45 for 10 classes, $60 for unlimited month (accepted for ALL Z CREW classes) (VIrtual classes)
- $7.50 plus tax in-studio classes during COVID pandemic
3) How long are your classes?
- 1 hour
4) What should I wear to class?
- workout clothes and tennis shoes
5) Do you have beginner Zumba classes?
- Zumba classes are meant to be for all fitness levels and dance levels. Choreography is simple so that everyone can have a good time even if you think you have 2 left feet :-). Moves and intensity can be modified and you can take it at your own level. All of our instructors are very good about showing level 1 steps and progressing to more advance steps after most have mastered level 1 steps, but it is perfectly acceptable to stay at level 1, if you want. *Strong by Zumba is a high intensity interval class (HIIT) and is therefore a much higher intensity than regular Zumba classes. Still, modifications can be made in a Strong class to decrease intensity or increase intensity, if desired.
6) Can I bring my kid to class?
- During COVID pandemic we DO NOT allow ANY spectators in the studio.
- PREVIOUS POLICY: While we currently do not offer any exercise classes for kids, we recognize that sometimes you have no option but to bring your kid with you to class and on those rare occasions, it is fine to do so. We do not offer any type of child care and the parent must be completely responsible for the child at all times. Children must have something quiet to do (read a book, watch a movie or play video games with headphones) where they can sit and not be disruptive to the other participants in class. Children may not run around the studio during the class. Special events and Masterclasses generally have a much greater attendance and therefore do not have room for any spectators or children. If you need to bring a child to a special event, please contact the studio and arrangements can be made on a case by case basis. *Disclaimer, we do not sensor our movements or our music. While most of the music is in another language (generally Spanish), at times the lyrics can be a little "spicy", thus please be aware of that.
7) Can my kid take the class with me?
- During COVID pandemic, we recommend no children for in studio classes. If you want them to take the virtual class with you, please make a profile for your child and sign a liability form as their legal guardian.
- We generally do not recommend children younger than 5 to participate as they have a much shorter attention span. If you feel your child would be able to participate in class and you are willing to take responsibility for them, then they can participate. All participants must sign a liability waiver, thus the parent or guardian must sign a liability waiver for each participant under the age of 18. Cost of the class is $5 drop in for any participant, including minors under 18, even if they ultimately decide not to participate in the entire class. Please also refer to disclaimer in FAQ #5.
8) Do I need to bring anything special to class?
- During COVID pandemic: you must bring a cloth mask (no bandanas, neck sleeves or paper masks). You will not be allowed to take the class without a mask.
- A sweat towel and water bottle are preferable for any exercise class. For Zumba Toning, you can bring your own weights (3lbs or less) but we also have some toning sticks available at the studio that you can borrow for class. For Strong by Zumba, you will want to bring a yoga mat as we do floor exercises, but we also have some yoga mats at the studio that you can borrow.
9) Do you have water for sale at the studio?
- During COVID pandemic: no waters are for sale at the studio. Please bring your own.
- Previously: A bottle of water can be purchased at the studio for $1. We have cold water and water at room temp. Please ask us if you would like a cold bottle of water.
10) Where do I park?
- Do NOT park at Comfort Dental (they will tow you). Parking is free on the street in front of the building on Lomas or on the side of the building on Jefferson. Parking also available in the lot behind the studio in front of the storage units. Please be considerate of our neighbors I9 Sports who park their trailers in the lot and often need to get in and out of the lot with those trailers. Please do not block the entrance/exit to the gated parking lot with the rear of your vehicle.
11) Do I have to sign up for class in advance or do you require a membership to participate?
